Summary of Role:
Raytheon Technologies Research Center (RTRC) has an opening for an experienced multi-disciplined Secure Room systems administrator that will serve the RTRC Digital Team supporting the RTRC Secure Room environment located in East Hartford, CT. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and implementing solutions to optimize classified information system operations.
This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager of the RTRC Digital Team and can be expected to perform the following duties:
Responsibilities:
Administer Windows, Windows Server, and Linux Based Systems
Support servers, desktops, and clusters
Windows and Linux operating systems
System imaging and patching
End user application installation and support
System software installation and support
Security product installation and support
Software licensing
Hardware support
Networking capability
Problem solving capability
Monitor system health, logs, configurations, compliance
Generate system documentation
Participate in system certifications and audits
Years of Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in Linux and Windows system administration. Support experience for classified rooms is preferred.
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualitification:
The preferred candidate should be self-motivated, have a strong background and expert understanding of Windows and Linux. She/he must be able to work effectively in project-team environment with minimum supervision, focused on innovation and have strong verbal and written communication skills. Additional relevant skills include:
US Citizen
Security Clearance – Secret level recent if lapse can be updated quickly
Preferred Certifications: MCSA, CompTIA A+, Security+
Provide infrastructure support for projects that must comply with DFARS/NIST 800-171, US Govt regulations
Experience securing systems using the RMF (Risk Management Framework)
Available to work onsite
5-7 of years of experience in a technical support role
Working knowledge and expertise with a variety of software, hardware, and applications
Willingness to solve complicated problems and see projects through to completion
Team-oriented attitude to help other colleagues and departments with technical problems
Forward thinking – recommend new products and technologies as appropriate
Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize numerous projects at one time

The following position is to join our Corporate or Research Center Team:
Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
Typically requires:
A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
Engineering/Other Technical Positions:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
