The Software Products Engineering (SPE) organization develops software applications, including integration and test on missiles, launchers, radars, naval systems, fire control and other complex systems. Job Summary:
This is your opportunity to join the Missile Defense Radar Software Team in Woburn, Massachusetts as a Cyber Security Software Engineer. As a Cyber Security software engineer, the candidate will be involved with software and firmware design, development, integration, and testing of real-time radar software. The candidate will be responsible for applying Cyber Security principles to the design and implementation of hardened Radar software applications. Our software applications are developed using C++ and Java programming languages on a variety of computing platforms running Linux or Unix operating systems.
The Missile Defense Radar Software Department’s mission is to provide world class Missile Defense and Surveillance Radar Software to be used in radar systems deployed on land and sea. Our software teams employ Agile development to rapidly and continuously deploy capabilities for our customers. Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Apply the latest technologies and be responsible for designing, implementing, debugging and fixing problems with the Radar software applications.
Understanding of real-time software design and the performance implications associated with specific Cyber Security implementations.
Understanding how their efforts affect the “big picture” of the radar system and be able to develop or review detail solutions at the source code level.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or related field and 5+ years’ experience in software engineering. In absence of a degree, a minimum of 9 years of experience is required. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience
4 years of experience in software engineering
2 years working in a Linux/Unix environment
1 year of experience with C / C++ or Java
Experience working in a team environment developing software applications
Experience working on embedded systems
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value:
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Software Engineering
Experience designing, implementing, testing, or fielding real-time security-oriented solutions on Department of Defense (DoD) programs (embedded experience highly preferred)
Experience using security-relevant tools and devices for security auditing, network security, host/server security, communication security, or policy management
Experience in Agile and DevSecOps environments
Knowledge of the Linux Device Driver model
Experience in an Agile/Scrum/Kanban frameworks and development environments
Experience using software configuration management and bug tracking tools
Experience with Python / Perl
