Job Summary:
This position is for a material handler to transport explosives and non-explosive material to/from storage magazines and a state-of-the-art missile production facility. Applicant must be mechanically gifted, demonstrate attention to detail and safety, and provide strategic and critical products to our war fighters. Job will be performed on the Redstone Arsenal located in Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Willingness to work with explosive items.
Perform accountability movements and confirming of transfer orders within SAP/PRISM.
Operation of Hyster warehouse and CombiLift style forklifts.
Provide timely and proper Ammunition, Arms, and Explosive’s logistics services which include receipt, transport, storage, and inventory accountability.
Prepare explosive and non-explosive material for demilitarization, disposal, and shipment compliant with governing regulations, policies, and procedures.
Exercise physical security and explosive safety risk mitigation measures.
Ability to operate hoists, pneumatic, and manual tools.
Capable of using manual torque tools, torqueing values more than 250-foot pounds.
Follow detailed work instructions and detailed processes to ensure safety and compliance.
Support and champion Lean Manufacturing Principles in all processes and areas of responsibility.
Willing to complete necessary training to improve skills.
Ability to provide work assignments and instruction to team member operators as needed.
Ability to provide leadership to other team members during completion of assigned tasks.
The above includes but is not limited to making sure that all documented processes and procedures involving movement of explosives and non-explosives to ensure proper material handling are adhered to.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Associate degree or 2 year post high school training
Minimum of 6 years relevant experience
Commercial Driver’s License with Class A and Hazardous Material Endorsement.
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications we Value:
Ability to operate pallet jack and other equipment normally associated with loading and unloading trucks.
Experience operating a Forklift
Ability to work outside to load and unload materials year-round.
Ability to obtain a DOT medical examiner’s certificate.
Physical warehousing and inventory control experience.
Active DoD SECRET or higher security clearance.
