Job Summary:
An exciting opportunity exists at Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) for a Section Leader to manage our Module Development Section within the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department. The Engineering Section Lead in this role would be responsible for managing an interdisciplinary group of electrical and mechanical engineers responsible for the design and test of modules containing GaAs- and GaN-based monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) products. This would be in active support of existing technologies in production as well as next generation products in development.
This position requires a strong academic background and experience in RF / Microwave Design, Development, Integration & Test. The candidate should also have Cost Account Manager experience and/or Task Leadership experience. Perhaps most importantly, the candidate must have a willingness to relate to and support the needs of their employees. The section leader will have a sphere of up to 20 employees who will depend on the section lead to help guide their careers and to maximize their potential and effectiveness.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
The candidate will work with the department manager to help staff multiple programs, control overhead costs, develop and deliver employee performance reviews, and develop / review proposals.
Also, support to management at the EPT leadership level and the engineering level is required.
The section leader will have a sphere of up to 20 employees who will depend on the section lead to help guide their careers and to maximize their potential and effectiveness.
Responsible for making moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems or products to enhance performance of work area.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR a Master’s in STEM and 5 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience in Microwave/RF module, subsystem and component analysis, design and test
Experience leading teams and/or projects
Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST, or Mentor Graphics’ Xpedition and analytical tools such as Matlab and AutoCAD
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value:
A Master’s degree or PhD. in a Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Field
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience in cost estimating, budget and schedule management
Experience leading technical teams in RF/microwave modules, systems, antennas, and/or Radar developments.
Understanding of allocating and flowing down requirements from the system to the component level
Experience in a production environment
Strong academic background that includes courses in: Microwave Engineering, Microwave Systems, Electromagnetic Theory and Radar Systems
Experience with microwave testing techniques, including using spectrum analyzers, Real-time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Performance Network Analyzer (PNAs)
Current DoD Secret level security clearance
Experience with internal / external customers
Experience with GaAs and / or GaN MMIC devices
