Job Summary:
The Mechanical Metrology Engineer will work individually and on engineering teams developing mechanical/dimensional calibration methods, systems, and procedures; analyzing measurement systems and error sources; and contributing to continuous improvement of calibration processes in the Metrology Department. Some direct mentoring and management oversight is expected.

**This position is eligible for a minimum of $10,000.00 Sign-On Bonus**

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Provide technical support for calibration technicians in the areas of high precision dimensional measurement, mechanical inspection, optical alignment of test equipment, mass, force, and torque measurement
Develop written calibration procedures, calibration laboratory methods, processes, and capabilities
Create uncertainty analyses for calibration procedures
Qualifications You Must Have:
•Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of prior relevant experience.
•Technical/engineering experience in a design, manufacturing, and/or engineering environment
•The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
•Ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Clearance (ATF)
Qualifications We Value:
•Preferred degrees in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
•Experience in the field of metrology
•Proficiency with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T)
•Experience with Creo CAD software
•Experience in mechanical inspection
•Understanding of optical tooling alignment techniques
•Familiar with CMM automated inspection methods
•Basic understanding of uncertainty analysis and statistical process control
•Knowledge of calibration quality standards
•Experience with interpretation of mechanical drawings
