The Missile Defense Radar Software Department’s mission is to provide world class Missile Defense and Surveillance Radar Software to be used in radar systems deployed on land and sea . Job Summary:

As an Embedded Software Developer, the candidate will be involved with software and firmware design, development, integration, and testing of real-time embedded security solution with radar application software. The candidate will be responsible for applying embedded security principles to the design and implementation of hardened Radar software applications. Our software applications are developed using C and C++ on a variety of computing platforms running Linux and other real time operating systems.

The candidate will apply the latest technologies and be responsible for designing, implementing, debugging and fixing problems with the Radar software applications. This position requires understanding of real-time software design and their performance implications. The candidate will learn how their efforts affect the “big picture” of the radar system and be able to develop or review detail solutions at the source code level.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience.

Experience with C / C++

Experience working in a team environment developing software tools and test applications

Experience working in a Linux environment.

Experience developing, debugging and testing embedded systems.

The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

Experience designing, implementing, testing, or deploying real-time embedded software solutions.

Experience in Agile and DevSecOps environments

Strong knowledge of building up and maintaining a small to medium sized code base built with CMake and Google Test.

Willingness to learn new techniques and apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose customer issues.

Knowledge of modern computer architectures and hardware technologies including:

x86, ARM and RISC-V Architectures

PCIe, GPIO, I2C, SATA

Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs)

Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs)

Knowledge of the Linux Kernel development and device drivers for the Linux Kernel.

Experience with other real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS and Zephyr.

Experience with bare-metal software development.

Experience in an Agile/Scrum in the Scaled Agile Framework for enterprise (SAFe)

Experience using version control systems such as Git or Subversion
