Job Summary:

The Advanced Microelectronic Solutions Department (AMSD) designs and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, microwave / millimeter integrated circuits (MMICs) and modules for defense and commercial applications as part of Raytheon Technologies Missiles and Defense. 

A test equipment design and development opportunity currently exists for an engineer to join our fast paced microelectronics technology development organization as an RF Test Engineer.   You  will be a member of a team of multi-disciplined engineers to design test systems for RF modules for radar applications, communications equipment and EW systems.   This role requires a strong  understanding of RF/Microwave electronics, test equipment. network analysis using the Keysight PNA-X, and Labview programming.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Support the design, development, procurement, assembly, programming, prototype demonstration and transition to production of RF test stations for testing of RF Transceiver modules.

Design/create/customize needed test assets by hand if required.

Knowledge:  Is experienced in the microwave module test area and has strong knowledge of analog biasing and digital control circuitry. Understands test equipment for microwave measurements, DC Power Measurements and digital/FPGA control.

Problem Solving:  Works to develop technical solutions to complex MMIC and module testing problems that require the use of ingenuity and resourcefulness in an agile work environment.

Impact:  Supports MMIC designers, module designers, packaging engineers, test engineers, and research and development teams to advance emerging technologies resulting in new product / business opportunities for Raytheon.

Candidate will be a team player and interact with all levels of the organization.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of prior relevant experience.

Experience  understanding of RF test parameters such as S-parameters, P1dB, noise figure, Power added Efficiency and/or TOI

Experience working with program RF test stations using NI Labview Software

Experience with equipment such as Keysight Performance Network Analyzers, spectrum analyzers, noise figure analyzers, and/or power meters/sensors.

Experience with design and/ or manufacturing of Microelectronic assemblies.

Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:

Experience with ADS, HFSS and Autocad or similar.

Strong computer skills.

Experience with design and manufacturing of GaAs/GaN MMICs.

Experience with Radar/EW system design/architecture.

Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Independent problem solving techniques.

Ability to work in a multi-disciplined engineering environment.

MS in Electrical Engineering or related science or engineering curriculum
