We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Principal Airborne EO/IR Systems Design Engineer to join our Advanced Electro-Optical (AEO) Engineering team, which is part of our Surveillance & Network Systems group. We are building a tactical airborne EO/IR system that provides critical support to our warfighters, in this role you will help guide the system design process for our LRIP and full rate production units.
As the Sr. Principal Airborne EO/IR Systems Design Engineer, you will have leadership opportunities to drive the details for the EO/IR system design, characterize system performance, and provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with customer requirements. You will absolutely play a critical role in making sure we deliver what our warfighters need against the adversaries they will face.

Primary Position Responsibilities:
Extend current tactical EO/IR control system design and associated requirements to meet additional and future customer specifications
Guide the development and extension of our real-time, embedded software to extend the use of our tactical EO/IR control hardware, in support of our customer missions
Oversee integration and test activities to ensure that our tactical EO/IR control system meets all functional and performance requirements
Lead the resolution of tactical EO/IR control system test anomalies
Security Clearance Requirement: Must have an active Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain a SAP level Clearance, US Citizenship required.
Required Qualifications:
Experience with EO/IR systems design, analysis, and performance verification
Extensive experience with modeling and simulation, in support of the design and performance predictions for complex EO/IR systems
Demonstrated experience analyzing data related to system performance measures from complex EO/IR systems
MATLAB programming expertise
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication (written, verbal, and presentation), including the ability to communicate effectively within multi-disciplinary engineering teams (hardware, software, etc) and with IPT leaders, program managers, and customers
Desired Qualifications:
Prior SCI or SAP level Clearances
Experience with some of the following: Infra-red signature-level modeling; atmospheric modeling; kinematics and image formation; EO/IR sensor performance modeling, analysis, and trades; computer vision; detection theory; estimation theory; software development practices; and the development lifecycle
Direct, close work with multi-disciplinary Engineering teams in the specification of requirements for EO/IR tracking and surveillance systems
Experience in guiding the development of real-time, embedded, software defined EO/IR tracking and surveillance systems
Direct, close work with multi-disciplinary teams through the integration and test of EO/IR tracking and surveillance systems
Education & Experience Requirements:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, or related technical discipline with 10+ years of relevant experience – OR
Advanced Degree in in Engineering, Physics, Math, or related technical discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience
