This particular position is intended for a knowledgeable individual with Communication Security (COMSEC) experience who will support the modernization and ensures the uninterrupted availability of multiple critical components in support of a customer which operates both CONOUS and OCONUS. Through the use of innovated approaches, your system and network experience and skills will be challenged by providing day-to-day support to an ever-growing multi-tasking work environment. In this fast-paced environment, you will routinely work directly with Government logistic support, DoD Controlling Authorities, Analyst, Government and Industrial Security/COMSEC Professionals, Program Management, Company Supply Chain, Various Type-1 MFRs, Fleet Support Units/KOAMS, end-users, enabling their ability to respond to emerging world events. Candidates must have an active Top Secret SSBI security clearance and be able to obtain a Top Secret SCI security clearance and pass a polygraph.
This multi-faceted COMSEC position will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Supporting the receipt, custody, issuance, safeguarding, accounting, training (creating/education), account to account transfers, loading COMSEC hardware, and assist with the development of new and updating existing processes/procedures for the Key Management Infrastructure (KMI).
Conduct self-audits/audits and coordinate with government (USN) and NSA KMI PO to facilitate COMSEC inspections/audits with local KMI account and Fleet Support Sites.
Some traveling in support of the Program’s Field Operations.
Reporting to and supporting the COMSEC Account Manager/KOAM,
Provide some program support to the Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO).
Required Skills:
Active Top Secret security clearance
Experience in Special Access Programs (SAP) community
Experience in Communication Security (COMSEC) community
Full understanding of NSA/CSS Manual 3-16
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient computer skills
Well organized with proven ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision
Active Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Certification (Certificate)
xperience as an Alternate KOAM and/or KOAM
Active DoD 8570.01M Certification (Certificate) and/or Security+
Desired Skills:
Experience with Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) – B and the entire EKMS series
Experience with Committee on National Security Systems (CNSSI) Number 4005
Safeguarding Communication Security (COMSEC) Facilities and Materials
Experience with Committee on National Security Telecommunications and Information Systems Security (NSTISSI) Number 4001
Controlled Cryptographic Items
Experience with handling, loading and software updates of various electronic key loaders (KIK-20, SKL, KYK-11)
Experience with TACLANE management/networking/troubleshooting, and load/fill procedures
Experience with the ordering of COMSEC Material (Electronic Keymat, Codebooks, and Equipment)
Experience with the management, initial installation and updates of Secure Terminals (STEs)
Experience with installation and management of vIPers
Previous US Government Customer interactions a plus
Flexible work hours and availability for some travel
Excellent attention to detail, time management and follow-through
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to successfully work under pressure
Security + Certificate or the ability to obtain within the 1st year of service.
COMSEC and EKMS experience
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree
Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
Typically requires:
A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
Engineering/Other Technical Positions:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
