The AST Broadband Communications Systems Division is currently seeking a cleared Software Engineer for embedded database development to be an integral part of a product development team that builds and delivers advanced high-capacity modern signals intelligence-gathering systems.  In this position, you will apply your embedded database development expertise and software development skills to design, implement, optimize, and test software applications with embedded databases to solve complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.

Required Skills:  

Demonstrated experience and detailed understanding in developing complex object-oriented software in C++ and/or Java in a Linux environment.

Expertise developing, integrating, and testing embedded databases (MariaDB, SQLite, Neo4j, PostgreSQL, InfluxDB), optimizing complex queries, and analyzing/tuning database performance.

Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) with the ability to effectively communicate with subordinates, peers, and leadership.

Desired Skills:  

Current Top Secret/SCI with Full-Scope Poly or current SSBI.

Detailed knowledge of telecommunications systems concepts, computer network models, and various telecommunication protocol suites (OSI, SS7, TCP/IP, UMTS), including IP routing protocols (EIGRP, IS-IS, OSPF, BGP)

Working knowledge and proficiency with common data formats, including JSON and XML.

Experience in all phases of the software development life cycle (CONOPS, requirements, design, implementation, integration, testing, verification, deployment).

Experience with system-level integration and testing, specifically, the integration of advanced, custom processing systems, testbeds, and software.

Proficiency using version control (Git, Subversion, etc.)

Familiarity with DevOps and/or DevSecOps practices.

Familiarity with telecommunication network infrastructures (routers, switches, etc.) and network reconnaissance techniques and tools.

Education:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. 

Clearance Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship required, as the candidate must have an Active TS/SCI Clearance day one of employment.

The salary range for this role is 62,000 USD – 124,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
