We are seeking an Engineer to join our Physical Sciences & Systems business unit located down the street from Newport, Rhode Island. We are looking for you to join our team solving problems that are both technically challenging and cutting-edge. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, Linux software development on an embedded platform, integrating with custom hardware, and multi-threaded programming. The ideal candidate is passionate about learning new technologies and thrives working in a multi-disciplinary capacity.
What you will do
Work as part of a team to design, implement, and test autonomous planning and optimization systems, machine learning algorithms, and software systems for embedded solutions
Integrate algorithms and software modules onto real-world autonomous platforms and systems
Contribute technical materials for proposals, white papers, and publications
Present technical results to internal and external customers

What you need
B.S and 2 years experience or recent MS grad with relevant experience, in CS, CE, Robotics, or related field, with familiarity with Autonomous Frameworks, Behavior-based Robotics, or other Unmanned/Autonomous Systems development
Proficiency with C/C++ and either Python or Matlab.
Willingness to apply for and be granted a US Government security clearance
Ability to travel overnight on occasion
Additional Skills that would be AWESOME
3+ years experience in development/R&D for Robotics and/or Autonomous Unmanned Systems Software
Active/current US Government/DoD clearance
Experience with both software and hardware testing
Experience with Unreal or Gazebo.
Experience working with RTI DDS
Experience working with ROS and ROS 2
Experience with VxWorks or Red Hat Linux
