Raytheon is seeking a Sr Systems Administrator with strong Linux and VM System Administration background to join our team. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and implementing solutions to optimize the infrastructure operations. Analyzes and identifies all or part of a company’s existing or new computer (and/or server), peripheral, network, and telecommunications systems requirements, taking into consideration the special technology needs. Designs, implements, codes, tests, documents, and maintains systems integration solutions to total system or subsystems. Establishes functional and technical specifications, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem.
This position requires US Citizenship with a current DoD Secret Clearance
Required Skills:
5+ years of experience directly related to Linux System Administration in a development environment
Must be a US Citizen with a current DoD Secret Clearance
Strong background in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 6/7)
Strong knowledge of VMware Horizon, VApps
Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere Clusters and vCenter Servers
Knowledge in storage technologies, EMC
Knowledge of patch management tools such as RPM and YUM package management
Knowledge of VMware vSphere Clusters and vCenter Servers
Experience in “commercial off the shelf” (COTS)/GOTS/FOSS software installations
Background in applying STIG settings to each product or underlying OS
Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with speed and efficiency
Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters, often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors.
Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) or acquire one within 6 months of start date. Inability to meet this certification requirement within that timeframe may result in termination with Raytheon Technologies. IAT Level 2 requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+
Must be able to handle a fast paced, rapidly changing development environment
Must be willing and able to travel approximately 10%
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds in support of hardware installations.
Desired Skills:
Ensure successful planning, deployment, installation, and upgrades of products within required timelines and resource allocations over multiple geographic sites
Automation experience, VMware orchestrator, Open Stack
Proficiency with Enterprise level administration of common network services such as Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP and troubleshooting as well as Microsoft Office Suite
Strong analytic and research skills – must be detail oriented
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Powershell and PowerCLI, Bash, Ruby, and Python.
Knowledge of automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, SaltStack
Knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS).
Knowledge of storage systems such as EMC VNX
Knowledge of Active Directory services, LDAP.
Knowledge of DoD 8500.1, DIACAP, DITSCAP, NISPOM environments.
Demonstrated ability to research and create detailed computing system documentation and operational guides/procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse user community in quick-response situations and to coordinate / collaborate with team members.

Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through University Degree combined with experience. Practical knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations

The salary range for this role is $57,000.00 to $115,000.00; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
