We have a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Specialist, Contracts supporting

our Space & C2 Systems Mission Area and Space Intelligence, and Surveillance and Reconnaissance (Space ISR) business segment. 

This role will provide day-to-day Contract Management support of moderate to significant scope and complexity, over multiple classified programs of various contract types, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements for proposal, negotiation, contract award and set-up, contract administration, deliverables, financial and invoice tracking, cash collection, internal/external reporting and audits and closeouts.

What You Will Do:

Support a dynamic and highly functioning Contracts team

Interface with Program Management and external customers (USG, Prime or Subcontract Managers)

Provide recommendations to management, develop fully compliant proposals and reconcile contractual documentation

Support and collaborate with internal functional organizations (Finance, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Pricing, Legal) in the daily program execution and proposal process

Provide support to new business initiatives, strategic business pursuit assessments, creation and negotiation of Proprietary Information Agreements and Teaming Agreements

Lead proposal response efforts for RFPs

Prepare, submit and negotiate proposals through contract award and setup

Prepare Risk Assessments and advise management of contractual and program risks and mitigation strategies where appropriate 

Recommend solutions to avoid or minimize risk

Effectively communicate (written and verbal) programmatic issues and obtain necessary approvals and documentation required to ensure successful proposal and contract execution

Skills and Requirements:

Minimum five 5 years of relevant work experience in Government contract administration or Prime Defense Contracts

Working knowledge of administration of IDIQ, Fixed Price and Cost Reimbursable contract types and task order contracting

Contract administration experience including hands-on proposal preparation and contract negotiations with the US Department of Defense (DoD) and other Prime Defense Contractors

Ability to review & analyze contractual requirements and identify terms & conditions risks/mitigations

Ability to develop creative solutions to unusual and complex contracting issues

Effective communicator both orally and in writing with strong analytical skills

Possess knowledge of financial business principles and understanding of applicability to Customer contracts and subcontracts 

Ability to work with excellent organizational/ time management skills while handling several contractual assignments concurrently

Experience with negotiation and administration of contracts and/or subcontracts

Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with customers and internal partners based on understanding, teamwork, and trust

Experience working independently with minimal oversight and supervision in a fast-paced environment, where prioritization is required to be effective

Proven record of responsiveness with strong time management and organization skills

U.S. citizenship is required as this role requires a Top Secret clearance with one year of employment

Minimal travel domestically as needed

Desired Skills and Experience:

Experience with financial aspects of contracts and other business arrangements

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and shared data bases

Agile and able to respond to dynamic priorities

Contract administration experience with the US Intelligence Community

Responsiveness with strong time management and organizational skills

Contract administration experience with Agile/Capacity, OTAs and Commercial type contracts

Growing business acumen with the ability to clearly recognize risk elements in business transactions

Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally

Highly motivated and organized; customer-focused; with a positive and enthusiastic attitude

Required Education:

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
