Exciting opportunity for a Principal Automation Engineer to work in the Hardware Electronic Center of Raytheon’s Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) division, at our facility in North Dallas, Texas. The candidate will have responsibilities for the design, deployment, test, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various automation systems. The job requires the individual to deploy internal automation systems and at times work with external automation integrators.
The individual will also have the responsibility for the sustainment and advancement of deployed commercial and custom automation systems. This position would have direct responsibility for maintaining key systems that are critical to maintaining production requirements.
The position provides growth opportunities, including customer and supplier interaction.
Required Skills:
Minimum of eight years of professional Electro-Mechanical /Automation Engineering experience
Experience in automation programming environments:
PLC/HMI
Robot
Vision software
Understanding of standard TCP/IP networking concepts:
IP Addressing (dynamic/static)
Switching
VLANs

Proven communication skills
Experience with Omron/Adept robotics programming language.
Experience with Galil robotic controllers

Solid understanding of configuration management practices
Strong programming skills preferred
C++, Linux, Java, and Python
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, preferably in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Master’s degree in Robotics, ME or EE preferred
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a
minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
