Job Description:

Sentinel is the primary air defense radar for the US Army and the Life Cycle Contractor Support (LCCS) contract provides support for the Sentinel radar. Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RI&S) is currently seeking a Field Service Representative (FSR) to support fourteen (14) Sentinel Radars in the National Capital Region (NCR) as part of the LCCS mission. The LCCS NCR FSR team is a 2 FSR team who support the Joint Air Defense Operational Center (JADOC) stationed AN/MPQ-64A3 Sentinel radars. As part of the JADOC mission, several Sentinel are identified as Elevated Sentinel Radars (ESRs) and as such are installed on 300 foot raised platforms.

As part of regular support, the LCCS NCR FSR is responsible for overseeing Sentinel Radar System operation and maintenance activities. The FSR oversees test, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities for Sentinel Radar Systems at the assigned location. The FSR submits activity reports to their supervisor and program management on a weekly basis. The FSR is considered the technical expert on Sentinel and must be able to answer all technical questions regarding the operation and maintenance of the system. The FSR will provide guidance to the US Army Sentinel Radar System Maintainer MOS94M, as necessary, to complete intermediate and depot level maintenance, fault isolation, alignment, calibration and repair verification that is beyond their authorized capability.

Experience with Operational and Tactical Procedures Associated with Air Defense Systems is a plus. The ability to provide in depth system knowledge and field experience related to the theory of operation and troubleshooting skills required to resolve Sentinel electronic and mechanical problems is strongly desired. The successful candidate will be able to provide advanced level fault diagnostic, fault isolation, cleanup, repair, and maintenance of the Sentinel radar.

This position will require the FSR to perform unscheduled work outside of normal working hours and occasionally on weekends if FSR support is required. This position requires an FSR to be able to lift up to 70 lbs, with assistance, as part of regular PMCS and radar troubleshooting. This position requires travel between multiple NCR work sites and warehouses, most several hours apart from each other. This position requires work at height and will require Tower Safety Training. Although the elevated platforms do have elevators, the elevators are not always operational which will require the FSR to occasionally climb the tower stairs with required test equipment and repair parts.

Fullerton, CA WILL NOT be the permanent home location, only the initial on-boarding will take place in Fullerton. The home location for this position is the NCR (Alexandria, VA) area.

Required Skills:

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

In-depth understanding of radar systems maintenance is a must.

A minimum of 5 years experience in the repair of US Army S band and/or X band artillery search and acquisition radar systems (Firefinder and Sentinel) or US Air Force Air Traffic Control and Tactical Weather Radar systems.

Mandatory Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs.

Ability to work at height.

Ability to climb approximately 13 flights of stairs with test equipment.

Ability to work outdoors in extreme climate conditions.

Ability to occasionally work 12 hour days.

Desired Skills:

Active Secret Clearance.

Knowledge of Military protocol to include Operational and Tactical Procedures Associated with Air Defense Systems.

Military experience is highly desirable, graduate of US Military radar technical school (e.g. US Army MOS 94M Radar Maintainer).

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work with the LCCS FSR team to advise and assist in effecting preventative maintenance programs and equipment record keeping.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field and a minimum of 2 years of experience. May substitute experience for education, Associate degree with 6 years experience, or HS Diploma/GED with 10 years of related experience.
