Summary of Role

Raytheon UK is seeking an Integration Engineer as part of a programme engineering team to undertake activities within a major training project. The Integration Engineer will be responsible for the facilitation of testing and system integration activities by third party suppliers in a Raytheon-provided Test and Reference Centre.  A wide experience of engineering disciplines is required, as this role will often involve being the sole Raytheon engineer on site when hosting third-party integration.  The engineer will also manage supplier access to the facility according to a contractually agreed schedule.

The successful candidate will also be called upon to provide support to the programme and may be involved at any point of the systems engineering development cycle.  Reporting to the Systems Engineering Lead, the role will require occasional travel to interact with suppliers or to support the wider project.

Key Responsibilities:

The Integration Engineer will support the Systems Engineering Lead as required. The role is composed of a variety of activities, such as:

Interact with the Project Delta Systems Engineering team for the assignment on integration and implementation tasks, primarily in support of sub-contractors’ integration testing.
Liaise with sub-contractors to schedule test and integration activities within the Test and Reference Centre.
Experience in working with cross-site teams of engineers.
Identify situations requiring urgent attention and escalate via appropriate channels.
Providing implementation and integration for the:
Test Centre infrastructure components, i.e., the servers (both physical and virtual), workstations (both physical and virtual), storage and networks (both physical and virtual).
Management of the security requirements through Active Directory policies, security software and writing System Operating Instructions.
Implement the physical detailed design for the Test Centre by building Servers, Windows workstations, configuring storage, and installing COTS applications.
Analyse and resolve system hardware defects.
Ensure regular checks of system monitoring software is performed and that redirection of alert notifications to relevant personnel is carried out.
Planning and managing periodic technical refresh activities, including scheduling, specification, costing and resourcing.
Undertake activities in a Lean-Agile (SAFe®) development & delivery framework.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

Experience in working with cross-site teams of Engineers.
Solid grounding in the systems engineering lifecycle preferably with experience on large complex secure systems.
Proven track record in the maintenance of complex IT systems.
Recent practical experience of successfully integrating COTS products.
Knowledge of the integration of computer hardware including networking in a secure environment.
Experience of the installation and configuration of Windows server software and Windows workstations. 
Expertise in managing Solaris, Red Hat, Ubuntu Operating Systems.
Strong Windows system administration experience, covering Windows 7, 10 and Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019.
Strong VMware virtualisation experience.
Experience of integrating engineering components from a subcontractor.
Experienced implementing hardware integration projects.
Problem analysis and resolution in a secure environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to work out of hours on occasion.
Possessed of, or capable of obtaining, SC.

Desirable:

Microsoft certification.
Knowledge of or experience in DevOps.
CISCO Certification.
VMware Certification.
A working knowledge of government IT Security environments and requirements. including MoD JSPs (440 and 604), Safety and ILS practices and policies.
Data Migration experience.
