The Raytheon Technologies (RTX) team is seeking Infrastructure DevOps/DevSecOps Engineers. The DevOps/DevSecOps Engineer will be responsible for implementing and supporting DevOps/DevSecOps solutions as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in an Agile development cycle for our programs as we develop our modernized systems.
The ideal candidate will join the RTX team and collaborate with other organizations such as Software and Systems Engineering to implement best DevOps/DevSecOps designs and practices. This role may also mentor junior team members, execute/assist trade studies, develop prototypes, and prepare and present technical Information to an audience.
Note: This position is hybrid. Most of the work can be done remotely, however, the candidate must be able and willing to drive into the factory location in Aurora CO to support design test and selloff. Additionally, support for the project may require travel (<10%) to support at the customer facilities in Boulder Colorado, Buckley AFB (Aurora CO), or Schriever AFB (CO Springs). Responsibilities Include: Leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to assist with deployment, implementation, modernization and support of DevSecOps/DevSecOps solutions Support software tool customization and automation including deployment of templates, dashboards and scripts to support program needs Assist with migration from legacy code repository (ClearCase) to BitBucket Assist with integration of the selected platform provisioning tool with Jenkins (Terraform, VMWare) Assist with design/architecture/development and support of build/test pipeline and integration, optimizing for performance and scalability across both cloud and on premise computing environments Provide guidance on software engineering tool hardware infrastructure resource requirements Assist engineers with DevOps/DevSecOps tool usage and issues, leveraging standards and best practices Clearance requirement: The ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret U.S. security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Specialized Skills required to perform this role: Strong understanding of Agile Methodologies System deployment using automation frameworks (Ansible / Chef) Automation execution using orchestration frameworks (RunDeck, VMWare vRO) Container development and orchestration (Kubernetes/Docker) VM provisioning (Terraform, VMWare) Required Skills: Minimum of 5 years related experience Experience with code repository systems (ClearCase, BitBucket) In-depth understanding of CI/CD development/maintenance/troubleshooting with automation servers (Jenkins) in all phases of a DevOps pipeline Proficiency with at least one major programming language (Python, Java, Ruby, C++, C#, Go) Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) Administration of traditional VM and cloud infrastructures (AWS, VMWare) Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools and ability to investigate findings (Nessus, Fortify) Ability to communicate technical concepts both up and down the management chain Experience with the architecture and design of COTS Infrastructure (IT) Experience with Windows and/or Linux System Administration The ability to work independently, without much supervision, and ensure project goals are met Proven analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex tool and system operation performance issues with services and devices spanning multiple network boundaries Security Plus certification within 90 days Desired Skills: Current Security Plus certification General working knowledge of networks, storage, and virtualization Leadership in implementing and accelerating Agile Release Trains Background in COTS/FOSS product installation, configuration and integration Advanced level skill with Docker and containers Advanced level skill with automation tools such as Chef, Ansible, Terraform Education Requirements: Typically requires BS/BA Degree and 5 years of related work experience. A Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) degree preferred. Relocation assistance available provided final candidate meets eligibility requirements. In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $70,000 to $152,000; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
