Raytheon Technologies Surveillance and Network Systems (SNS) has an exciting opportunity for an EO/IR Subject Manager Expert functioning as an Engineering Fellow at Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS). Applicants must exhibit an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness; and will apply and develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts and is viewed within the company and the customer community as an expert in the EO/IR technologies.  

The Engineering Fellow will assume a key leadership and advisory role to the Engineering organization.  The Engineering Fellow will have frequent interaction with program customers and will need to be cognizant of business execution as they craft the EO/IR technical roadmaps that align with Raytheon Vision Systems strategic direction. 

In addition to deep technical expertise, the successful candidate for this role must exhibit fine-tuned communication and presentation skills to interface with senior level executives at Raytheon and with its customers.  The Engineering Fellow will also lead proposals, shape customer solicitations, and represent Raytheon in industry forums. 

Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance and within one year. US Citizenship required.

Required Skills:  

Minimum 12 years related experience in EO/IR programs and technologies: FPA’s, optical sensing systems, integrated detector (electronics) cooler assemblies (IDCA or IDEACA) design, development, integration, test, and verification/validation 
Knowledge of the underlying phenomenology of focal plane arrays, semiconductor device physics, signal processing, and camera electronics 
Ability to develop innovative solutions to meet the warfighter’s needs 
Communication and presentation skills with the ability to interface with a broad audience ranging from senior level executives and customers to early-career engineers 
Effectively lead teams of technical experts to resolve challenging technical problems 
Proposal management, from initial pursuit and capture planning to proposal delivery 
Mentor and grow high performing teams 
Generate innovative concepts, ideas and capture Intellectual Property (IP) on behalf of the company’s portfolio 
Possess Patents, Publications, and/or Technical Presentations to industry 
Factory production or test experience, plus the ability to effectively plan, lead, and execute root-cause and corrective-action (RCCA) efforts 
Experience with Program management, principal investigator, program chief engineer, or Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) activities including working knowledge of Earned Value (EVMS) 
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date

Desired Skills 

Active DOD Security Clearance
Previous experience in working on DARPA, AFRL, ONR, or NRL programs. 
New business development for advanced technology, including direct customer interface and a familiarity with the DoD Science and Technology community

Required Education: 

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related STEM discipline such as Math, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline. A related advanced degree is preferred but not required
