Department Overview
Pratt and Whitney’s North Berwick Engineering Center (NBEC) is currently seeking an Engineering Co-op with interest in structural analysis to work commercial and military gas turbine engines. As a member of an Integrated Product Team, your efforts will support the design, development, validation, production implementation and fleet management of engines flying throughout the world. Specifically, your work will focus on turbine components, and may include: structural FEA modeling and analysis, life assessments, repair analysis, CAD modeling, and participation in a high-energy team of engineers. This Co-op position would take place during late summer to December.
Basic Qualifications
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering. Preferred majors include: Mechanical, Aerospace
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Fluent in English (verbal/written)
US citizenship required due to government contracts
Preferred Qualifications
Completed coursework in Statics, Materials, Vibration, Mechanics (or equivalent experience)
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Working knowledge of: Solid Modeling / Finite Element Modeling. Familiarity with: Programming (Perl, VBA, C++, Python, Matlab, etc), Statistics, Manufacturing methods
Candidates must be willing to apply for a security clearance from the US Government.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
