Job description:
The Materials & Processes Engineering (MPE) department at Pratt & Whitney is seeking talented engineering college hires to join the LDP.
Key Responsibilities
During this program, you may be responsible for engine component, materials and/or chemical process development, analyses, testing and other support functions for both commercial and military engine applications. Specific tasks may include mechanical testing, materials analysis, metallurgical or chemical analysis, inspection processes or coating property analysis in the areas of:
Materials development for aerospace alloys, coatings and polymers/composites
Materials and engine component analysis through electron microscopy and other scattering techniques
Process and analytical chemistry
Mechanics of material and component behavior
Advanced casting technologies
Materials property and process modeling
Material data analysis, statistics and applications to engine design
Basic qualifications:
Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Engineering (aerospace, mechanical, materials science, electrical, software, systems engineering or related discipline) or Hard sciences (physics, mathematics, chemistry or computer science); degree must be obtained between December 2022 – June 2023
Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
Self-motivated, driven and team-oriented
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 in any/all degrees
U.S. Citizenship Required
Ability to travel and relocate anywhere in the United States
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance*
Preferred qualifications:
Strong commitment and interest in a career within engineering – preferably in applied materials development
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with a variety of challenges
Communicate effectively throughout a variety of levels within the organization
Results-driven, specifically when leading, motivating, and influencing others
Relevant internship or co-op experience

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
