Job Description

Development Operations (DO) Instrumentation Design Engineering is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Engineer. The Instrumentation Project Engineer is responsible for leading the design and fabrication of instrumentation hardware, that provides critical measurements for both military and commercial engines. The designs include major station probes, blade tip clearance probes, optical blade tip timing probes, slip rings, fan blade out packages & telemetry packages. Our hardware is used to collect data during the testing of every engine in the Pratt and Whitney portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Development of Basis of Estimates (BOE) for commercial and government proposals

Provide project management to the Integrated Product Team (IPT)

Manage program/task budgets and schedules

Performs risks assessments and develop mitigation plan as needed 

Manage the procurement of the designed instrumentation hardware

Prepare and present EV status of all tasks that require EVMS

The position requires excellent communication and team leadership skills as well as the ability to operate across a wide range of disciplines and management levels with both internal and external customers to ensure that task requirements are met

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in engineering and a minimum of 3 years’ experience
US Citizenship required for Government Contracts
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security clearance required

?Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience with Project Management toolsets (e.g., Agile, SAP, Primavera, or MS Project)
Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams, budgets, and schedules
Ability to solve technical problems with minimal direction
Understanding of standard manufacturing methods
Ability to interface effectively with both internal and external customers
Active Security Clearance is preferred
