Pratt & Whitney’s Program Planning & Scheduling (PP&S) organization is searching for a Program Planner. The PP&S organization works with key program stakeholders to promote the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) as a healthy, integrated management tool. The master schedule is the program’s most powerful management tool and when properly maintained, the schedule can be used to influence program management decisions and actions. PP&S supports various programs by managing the IMS content, providing quality analysis of the product and ensuring that it meets government and company standards.
The Program Planner works with program office stakeholders and partners to ensure quality inputs and baseline integrity. They apply their advanced knowledge in consulting with Earned Value team members and Cost Account Managers (CAMs) on Military Engine Programs, promoting the IMS as a healthy, integrated management tool.
Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:
Maintain schedule health, making sure that the schedule is vertically and horizontally linked to perform program critical path assessments with limited oversight.
Provide consulting support to technical work scope owners by analyzing program plans, assisting technical experts in developing schedule baseline changes, and integrating proposed changes into existing schedules. Validate and approve all program schedule inputs.
Assess the variance and mitigation plans of technical experts in order to maintain the IMS as a tool to manage technical execution.
Lead the development and delivery of Schedule Risk Assessments (SRAs) as well as the IMS to internal and external customers in accordance with schedule quality and technical performance requirements as identified by contract and company procedure.
Act as the program IMS point of contact in program reviews.
Partner with Earned Value Analysts and CAMs to ensure alignment between schedule and earned value information.
Develop working schedules for estimating. Preparing proposal and preliminary schedules as required and integrating proposed changes into existing schedules
Create and update scheduling procedures and standard work. Continuously expand and update technical knowledge in order to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity as well as communicating improvements and efficiencies in scheduling processes.
Basic Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of experience (Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience or advanced degree with 3 years of experience) to include :
Working as a program level planner using logic-driven scheduling software such as Primavera, MS Project or Open Plan.
Experience analyzing schedules for quality in their construction and ability to produce valid critical paths.
Demonstrated proficiency in efficient and effective schedule analysis.
Knowledge in the application of integrated cost/schedule techniques on programs.
Must be proficient in MS Office Programs (MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word).
Actively hold a Government Security Clearance.
US Citizenship
Preferred:
Familiarity with the NDIA’s Planning and Scheduling Excellence Guide.
Demonstrated understanding of earned value management principles and their application to complex projects.
Experience with IPMR reporting requirements.
Experience working on schedules that require baseline change control and monthly IMS reporting.
Experience on government compliance programs, and familiarity with the DoD Earned Value Management System Interpretation Guide (EVM Sig).
Experience using a Monte Carlo schedule risk simulator (i.e. Primavera Risk Analysis, Acumen Fuse).
Understanding of systems/project engineering concepts and practices.
Organized and self-motivated with excellent verbal/written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
Ability to efficiently and effectively handle multiple shifting priorities while meeting deadlines.
