CMC Process Engineer’s Key Responsibilities:

Develop processes – thermal and non-thermal – to produce ceramic matrix composites
Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to develop new processes and implement new designs into production
Play an active role in the Integrated Product Team (IPT) process for Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) turbine components
Create and implement strategies to improve quality and minimize process cost
Lead the strategy for comprehensive data collection and analysis that will support robust process development for CMCs. This includes establishing methods for data collection, data analysis and data visualization for data-driven decision making
Lead the advancement of Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and support hardware production for Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) demonstration
Conduct root cause investigations as required and implement corrective actions
Identify, investigate and implement new technology to address business goals
10% Travel

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of prior relevant experience, OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and 3+ years of relevant experience
US Citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in Engineering discipline with 3.0 GPA or higher preferred.
Experience developing new processes and successful transition to production
Experience making, testing or analyzing CMCs
Experience CMC processes and equipment
A working-knowledge of quality and process improvement tools such as Six Sigma and LEAN
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships and exercise influence
Ability to lead small teams to deliver outstanding results and overcome challenges
Knowledge and effective practice of Environmental, Health and Safety requirements
