We have a rare opportunity for a Design Discipline Chief within the Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) organization with expertise in commercial and military Fan, Low- and High-Pressure Compressors design.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical mentorship in the resolution of module level technical problems and issues.
Actively develop mechanical arrangements that result in products and components that are low cost and competitively superior within program schedule landmarks.
Lead root cause investigations and implement robust product and process corrective actions
Benchmark and maintain awareness of emerging trends in mechanical design processes and product technologies to steer mechanical design and compressor technology strategy.
Team with CSE discipline chiefs, design managers, and subject matter experts to handle the product review process and ensure first time design quality.
Communicate with team leadership and management on status and risks to program schedule and metrics.
Collaborate with internal and external customers
Support development of Engineering Standard Work and Training
Coach and mentor Design Engineers
Lead efforts within the Design Technical Discipline Steering team, to develop and oversee tools, methodology and criteria.
Utilize TPM, QCPC, RCCA and other tools to continuously improve design processes.

Basic Qualifications

BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
15+ years of turbomachinery design experience with a concentration in gas turbine engine compressors
US Citizen or Persons
Current Secret level security clearance or the ability to obtain one

Preferred Qualifications

M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering
20+ years of turbomachinery design experience with a concentration in gas turbine engine compressors
Broad knowledge of product design processes and overall engine system integration
Proficiency with Mechanical Design tools, including NX, Teamcenter or equivalent
Ability to craft clear communication and develop meaningful relationships
Analytical Skills
Highly developed interpersonal, leadership, and teaming skills
Black Belt six sigma certification
