Job Description

Plan and develop tooling methods for the assembly, disassembly, inspection, repair, and test of Pratt & Whitney commercial and military jet engines. Project Engineer must exercise a high degree of initiative and judgment during the development of assembly tooling.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze, plan and establish tool requirements to support assembly/disassembly of validation/production engines/modules

Technical writing of tool usage instructions

Participate in P&W Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to help ensure assembly tooling designs can be produced, supported and maintained.

Develop concepts for assembly/disassembly procedures

Participate in development and qualification of assembly tooling

Interface with customer and supplier representatives to identify requirements and resolve assembly tooling related issues.

Manage project tasks to ensure tooling is delivered on time and within budget.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in engineering.
Must be able to interpret and work from engineering and tool drawings
US Citizenship required for Government Contracts
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience with Project Management toolsets (e.g., Agile, SAP, Primavera, or MS Project)
Experience using and navigating Teamcenter and Unigraphics/NX
Knowledge of various types of special assembly support tooling
Understanding of manufacturing practices, jet engine assembly/disassembly and maintenance procedures
Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams, budgets, and schedules
Ability to solve technical problems with minimal direction
Understanding of standard manufacturing methods
Ability to interface effectively with both internal and external customers
Active Security Clearance
Candidate must possess solid communication skills
