Job Description:
Aftermarket and Sustainment Engineering (ASE) Structures Discipline Director is responsible for providing strategic direction and management for the Structures discipline contributions relating to aftermarket support for all P&W engine programs. The person in this role is a member of the ASE senior leadership team, and as such, will participate with executive leadership in the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic goals and vision, while championing ASE’s core values of trust, integrity, and excellence. This individual will support ASE’s mission to be the customer’s preferred choice, recognized for unmatched performance and durability, enabled by our engineers through leadership, empowerment, innovation, and disciplined execution within a culture where everyone feels valued, engaged, and recognized. This will include supporting discussions with senior leadership in both Pratt & Whitney and across RTX. This role is responsible for providing leadership in the company’s cultural transformation, and employee development and succession planning within the Structures discipline to promote discipline health and ensure that talent is being readied for key leadership opportunities. The individual will provide direct supervision of the ASEs Structures Discipline Chiefs and Deputy Chiefs, Subject Matter Experts, Structures discipline managers, and their teams, and develop innovative approaches to talent recruitment and retention support. Structures discipline health strengthening responsibilities for this role focus on leadership skills development, robust project planning, disciplined project execution, enhanced field support capability, and comprehensive industrial planning and validation expertise in collaboration with the Structures Senior Fellow Discipline Lead and across engineering organizations and sites (including OKC, PWPR, CEC and NBEC).
Key Responsibilities:
Employee is responsible for providing leadership in the company’s cultural transformation and organizational must-dos.
Employee develops innovative approaches to talent recruitment and retention, along with the talent development of their discipline.
Employee is expected to oversee and support employee development and succession planning within the discipline to promote discipline health and ensure talent is being prepared for the next generation of key leadership opportunities.
Employee will participate in global initiatives that cross organizational boundaries, especially with regards to interactions with peers from other organizations in promoting overall discipline health (e.g., the Discipline Health Review).
Employee will represent the organization as required when executive leadership is unavailable; this includes supporting discussions with senior leadership in both Pratt & Whitney and across RTX, as well as with suppliers and other external partners.
Basic Qualifications:
BS in Engineering
14+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and 12+ years of relevant experience
US Citizen due to government contract
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrates technical and strategic leadership
Candidate needs to be highly motivated
Able to work across organizational boundaries and have demonstrated exceptional customer focus
Familiarity with engineering development processes
Strong project management skills
