Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Certification Engineer to support The Certification and Airworthiness Group which is the focal point with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and all foreign airworthiness authorities for engineering aspects of all Pratt & Whitney commercially certified products. The group is staffed by FAA Organization Designation Authorization members (ODA’s) and other technical certification specialists who manage all interactions with the FAA Engine Certification Office and foreign airworthiness authorities for new Type Certification programs and continued airworthiness of existing fleets.

Key Responsibilities:

Learn the commercial engine certification process and apply it for the active commercial certification programs including the NGPF Program family.
Collaborate with existing ODAs, CIPTs, other systems disciplines and technical specialists to develop substantiation plans and reports for initial engine model certification activity and post certification design changes.
Track certification deliverables through the various steps of the certification process and coordinate with members of the various engine program SIPT’s
Once fully proficient in this position you may be considered for eligibility as an ODA unit member with FAA delegated authority providing dedicated support to one or more specific engine programs.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of engineering experience, OR Master’s Degree and 7+ years of engineering experience.
U.S. Citizenship required. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess U.S. citizenship.
Experience within one or more P&W engineering organizations while supporting prior certification or post certification activities (Validation, Test, Performance, Structures, Hot Section, Cold Section, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with the FAA Type Certification process (FAR 21) and FAA certification design standards (FAR 33, 34, 25).
Prior experience with foreign regulatory authorities
