Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Engineer Software. This position will be located in Orlando, FL and will support our Ground Satellite Communications Systems (GSCS) Operating Unit (OU) in design, development, delivery, and sustainment of next generation enterprise-level satellite ground systems and software.

Roles and Responsibilities

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field of study with 2 years of experience OR Master’s Degree
Basic knowledge of Agile methodologies
Demonstrated professional level experience in two or more modern programming languages (C#, Java, JEE, Python, NodeJS, Active Server Page (ASP.net), HTML, JavaScript)
Ability to analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Web Server/comms technologies, AWS services, databases
Proficiency in software configuration management and a version control tool (ClearCase, Git/GitHub, Subversion)
Knowledge of Agile development concepts, methodologies, and associated tools (Jira/Atlassian tools)
Some experience with software design, architecture, and code
Some experience developing and/or implementing complex algorithms
Some experience with Static Code Analysis (SCA) tools (Fortify, Understand, SonarQube)
Some experience with unit testing (tools, frameworks, automation)
Some experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
Linux operating system administration experience

Salary Range: $73,400 USD – $91,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
