Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineer. This position will be located at our Defense Systems Sector in Northridge, CA, supporting our Advanced Weapons Business Unit. 

Job Responsibilities:

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Support trade studies and analysis with subject matter experts.

The successful candidate will have an understanding and knowledge of requirements analysis, have a working knowledge of System Architectures and can apply its use to the engineering teams, and must be able to work with and understand other engineering disciplines – mechanical, electrical, software, etc. and how systems and products are developed. You must also be capable of technical writing, such as Concept of Operations, Specifications, Statement of Work, Test Plans and Procedures for I&T. Candidates who understand agile development methodologies, and can facilitate meetings and organize workflows using agile software collaboration tools will do well in this position.

Basic Qualifications: 

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited institution by June 2023
Be majoring in or having majored in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering or related STEM degree
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile). 
Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred Qualifications: 

Understanding and knowledge of requirements analysis and how to decompose into functional requirements
Experience in SysML  
Experience in Cameo 
Experience in support of the integration of aircraft systems including integrated cockpit systems, automatic flight control systems, and other assorted avionics systems
Avionics engineering experience with flight control systems, displays, and mission computers
Experience using a Jira and/or Confluence

Salary Range

$68,100 – $102,100
