Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer/ Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
What you’ll get to do:
Performing customer requirements elicitation leading to Requirements Development
Coordination & collaboration with the System Engineering and Command & Launch Segment System Engineering Teams
Supporting system, segment, element and unit level trade studies
Definition of high-level functional and performance requirements and verification methods, subsequent analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, and tracking them through design, verification, integration, and operational validation
Supporting a team of engineers to create, mature and present comprehensive and cohesive technical charts representative of the appropriate level of maturation for any given milestone meeting and demonstrating team readiness in relation to achieving the milestone entrance and exit criteria
Identifying required contractual deliverables and non-contractual documentation and driving corresponding updates to closure
Coordinating and collaborating with diverse engineering design teams to assist in managing the technical baseline

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll bring these qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
Systems Engineer requires a minimum 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 0 years with a Master’s
Principal Systems Engineer requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 3 years with a Master in Science or 0 years with a PHD
U.S. Citizenship and an Active Secret Security Clearance or higher awarded or reviewed in the last 6 years
Understanding of systems engineering principles and processes
Experience working in an Agile team
Principal System Engineer requires 3-5 years of experience performing in a Systems Engineering or related role
These qualifications would be nice to have:
A current DoD Top Secret clearance with capability for SAP access
Effectively communicate and present to project and program management, other technical managers and customers
Direct experience using the DOORS Requirements Management Database
Familiarity with Model- Driven Systems Engineering languages (SysML /UML) and concepts and CORE knowledge a plus
Excellent technical writing skills, and team building skills
Subcontractor technical oversight experience
Salary Range: $73,400 USD – $110,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $90,400 USD – $135,600 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
