Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services is seeking an Associate Accountant to support the Accounts Payable Specialty Processing Team. The selected individual will report to the manager of Accounts Payable and will utilize SAP and Open Text to support Accounts Payable functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, company policies and procedures, disclosure statements, and government regulations, as they relate to our accounts payable tasks. Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:                                                                                                                               

Timely and accurate processing of invoice
Utilize SAP and OpenText to perform Accounts Payable processing of Advance, Liquidation, Performance Based, and Progress Payment invoice payments 
Perform accounting activities within the context of GAAP, FAR, CAS, and corporate policies and procedures
Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills to help resolve vendor and internal personnel inquiries
Ability to operate independently and provide exceptional customer service for Specialty Processing 
Ability to perform other duties as assigned
The ability to clearly and professionally communicate related accounting policies and procedures
Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity 
Supports month-end requirements for Progress payment/ Liquidation invoices
The ability to clearly and professionally communicate related accounting policies and procedures
The ability to multitask and work independently to meet service delivery agreements

This role is not location specific and can be supported virtually.

Basic Qualifications – to be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related business field, OR Associates degree in Accounting/Finance or related business field with 2 years of relevant experience OR an equivalent level of related work experience will be considered in lieu of education (4 years) with a High School Diploma
Strong attention to detail and accounting orientation
Must be able to handle multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.
Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Preferred Qualifications – candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

SAP  experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/ Finance or related field
Experience in a financial services environment
Government contracting experience
Advanced Excel Skills
Understanding of FAR, GAAP, CAS, and SOX requirements
Microsoft Access Experience
Experience working on a team virtually

Salary Range: $47,900 USD – $71,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
