Northrop Grumman Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) Division seeks a highly motivated Lead for our PGS Engineering Early Career Programs which includes Interns, College Hires and Engineering Career Development Programs for Eastern Region. Leadership skills are required in order to be an advocate for career advancement by promoting knowledge sharing and mentoring for Early Career Talent as well engaging with Engineering and Business Leadership.

This position will be located in Baltimore, MD.

The Engineering Early Career Lead will:

Collaborate with Engineering Leadership and core Business Units to ensure program consistency and continuity; to ensure early career employees stay on track for assignments and rotations; and to ensure development and growth needs are met

Support other PGS Engineering Early Career Leads and serve as liaison with other sector and division early career talent leads

Provide early career employee mentoring and coaching with an emphasis on career exploration and professional development

Develop training and programming strategies and execute professional development events for employees

Deliver and maintain Early Career onboarding, professional development programming and communications

Collaborate closely with peers and stakeholders at all levels (including Human Resources, functional managers, and technical leadership) across the division to ensure a consistent, world-class Early Career experience 

In addition, this Lead will also serve 50% on direct program work in Engineering (SEIT, Software, or Hardware)

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 4+ years of engineering experience OR Master’s degree in a STEM with 2+ years of engineering experience.

Candidate must have Secret clearance and be eligible to obtain Top Secret and SCI clearances.

Demonstrated experience in one of the following:

 Experience with systems engineering for space applications (mission engineering and analysis, requirements development, architecture modeling and simulation, integration and test, verification and validation)

Experience with software, electrical, computer/digital, RF, or mechanical engineering design, build, and test for real-time SWAP limited applications

Proven track record as a trusted advisor and partner with business leadership, along with demonstrated project management, analytical and process orientation skills

Candidate will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph 

Able to work in a fast-paced environment where multiple projects are being developed and deployed simultaneously

Ability to and passion for providing career development guidance to new college graduates throughout the first 3 years of their career.

Ability to effectively interface with other Engineering and Production disciplines across the Business Units as well as Programs.

Experience with providing career development guidance to junior employees

Experience with program management, functional management, and/or customer management

Experience with business development activities

 Provide project and technical oversight for design activities performed by the group

Strategic hiring and employee skills development, labor forecasting and execution through close collaboration with program management, and balancing employee needs with business goals 

Excellent communication skills (oral and written) required, and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success collaborating and leading technical teams.

Salary Range: $117,600 USD – $176,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
