Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Military Trainer – Joint National Training Capability (JNTC) Mitigation Analyst to coordinate the mitigation of accreditation and certification issues for selected Service Joint Training Division (SJTD) programs and training sites.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Analyzes and drafts complex reports incorporating input from SJTD liaison officers positioned with each branch of Service and SOCOM
Conducts analysis to determine mitigation actions that increase joint context at Service programs
Directly interacts with active military officers (O-5 through O-7), government civilians (GS 13 through GS 15) and numerous stakeholders within the Joint Staff, J7
Comprehends and analyzes issues resulting from Accreditation and Certification visits for 37 service programs and 36 training sites
Enters program and site issues into Defense Intelligence Information Enterprise (DI2E), determines components required for specific queries, and produces detailed reports using Microsoft office tools
Supports development of solutions, plans, schedules, and executes telephonic In Progress Reviews (IPRs) with service program leadership and SJTD Desk Officers
Develops a Mitigation Action Plan (MAP) consisting of objectives, key tasks, office of primary responsibility (OPR) and incorporates the MAP into a Program of Actions and Milestones (POAM)
Prepares materials, reports, and briefings for oversight bodies such as the JNTC Corporate Board, Executive Steering Committee, and Joint Integrated Process Team
Maintains mitigation related information in schedules, standard operating procedures, and other process documentation
Updates Service Joint Training Division SharePoint portal sites
Basic Qualifications:
One of the following:
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 7 years of professional leadership experience
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of professional leadership experience
Master’s degree with a minimum of 1 year of professional leadership experience
Familiar with combatant command training
Active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
Current U.S. Passport or ability to obtain a Passport
Ability to work on-site in Suffolk, Virginia
Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time)
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate of the Joint Forces Staff College or Service/agency equivalent
Operational level experience at a Special Operations Command Component, Joint Task Force or Combatant Command level staff
Familiar with Joint Staff J7 training programs and workings
Experience with collecting data, analytical analysis and determining courses of action
Experience working with and around senior military and government personnel Information Systems
Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office Tools to include MS SharePoint and MS Teams
Knowledge working with relational database
Salary Range: $58,000 USD – $87,000 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
