The Emerging Capabilities Development group of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Manager 1 – Material Control Operations for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) – located outside of Baltimore, Maryland – where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs. Northrop Grumman’s ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Our devices enable a number of Northrop Grumman’s ground-based radars, avionic radars, and space systems. The chosen candidate will be the Manager for Material Control operations and will be responsible for directing, planning, and managing work on their shift. The Material Control Operations Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of represented employees working in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Other responsibilities include:

Planning, scheduling and managing the efficient movement of material from receiving or the storerooms to production to meet engineering and production schedules
Use Material Planning and Inventory systems like SAP and Factory Works to monitor and manage material movement and storage
Provide direction and guidance to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies
Responsible for daily operations of a team (direct supervision of the staff, assignment of work, schedules, and day to day workflow).
Involved in staffing decisions, training, and driving engagement efforts to achieve the employee’s highest potential

Work independently across the organization to meet Fab needs and goals
Maintain a safe work environment.

1 Position:

3rd Shift – Mon – Fri – 6am – 3pm

Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations or related field. 
Minimum of five (5) years of operations, material planning, or supply chain management experience.
Experience with basic manufacturing and production concepts
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience in the semiconductor industry
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government DoD Secret clearance within a timeframe set forth by management
US citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Current/active Secret clearance. 
Prior experience leading diverse teams.
Experience working with SAP and MES.

Salary Range: $107,000 USD – $160,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
