Come be a part of our mission.As a Radar Systems Engineer on this team, you will apply physics and engineering principles, mathematical analysis, and modeling and simulation to support development and analysis of advanced sensor systems, technologies, and algorithms. You will perform research, analysis, evaluation, development and test of technologies from industry, academia, and government organizations, to include Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS), Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS), and open source technologies. You will also consider custom approaches to solve challenging problems in sensing. Additionally, you will provide systems engineering recommendations and assist with the planning and execution of development efforts for complex sensor systems, and systems of systems. Ideal candidates will apply their analytical skills to a broad range of systems engineering activities in support of Northrop Grumman projects and programs.In short, the position requires a flexible, versatile, and innovative individual who is well-versed across a range of technical subjects and disciplines related to radar, mastery of a few, and an eagerness for continued learning and collaboration with team members.Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Radar Systems Engineer:
9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or other applicable STEM field; 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters’ degree in a corresponding field; 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD
Active DoD Secret clearance to start and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret once employed.
Experience in Radar signal processing
Experience with MATLAB/PYTHON or equivalent programming/analysis languages
Familiar in using a requirements management tool, such as DOORS
Familiar in using a discrepancy management tool, such as Jira, Bugzilla, etc.
Preferred Qualifications for a Senior Principal Radar Systems Engineer:
TS/SCI security clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain one after employment
Experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++, Fortran and equivalent programming languages
Substantial domain subject matter expertise and extensive experience in multiple areas:
Radar system modeling, simulation, and performance analysis
Radar waveforms and digital signal processing (DSP) methods
Radar imaging and processing techniques
Radar antenna and active electronically scanned array (AESA) system principles, digital beamforming, and array processing
Electronic Protection (EP) and clutter mitigation principles
Principles of object detection, tracking, classification and related algorithms
Algorithm development and testing
High Performance Computing /Parallelization techniques
Multi-static radar principles
Innovative technology concept development

Salary Range: $117,900 USD – $176,900 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
