Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Rolling Meadows, IL location.  The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Production Quality Assurance team that interacts with Suppliers, Program Quality Engineers and Manufacturing Operations on products to meet our customer’s mission needs. The candidate must have the ability to learn the Vendor Material Disposition Area (VMDA) process as it relates to the Receiving Inspection area for processing material across all product lines.

The candidate must have the ability to read / interpret engineering drawings, assembly inspection instructions and must be able to use all types of inspection tools.

Roles and Responsibilities

Support for the Rolling Meadows Receiving Inspection VMDA area for supplier non-conforming supplier received material
Evaluates and reports on incoming material, develops and maintains metrics for monthly reporting.
Interfaces with the supplier mission assurance team to ensure identified program issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Works with the team to establish root cause on identified issues and ensures corrective and preventive actions are documented, implemented, and verified effective.
Coordinates efforts to ensure the quality engineering team meets goals and closes actions on time.
Conduct audits/assessments to ensure effective processes are well documented and updated as needed
Supports the teams Continuous Improvement activities

Basic Qualifications:    

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field with related internship experience
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance (US Citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of SAP/MES, experience in MS Word, MS Excel, and Microsoft Teams
Experience in analyzing problems, identifying root cause and corrective actions
Experience comprehending / interpreting regulatory compliance, such as ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management System


Salary Range: $60,900 USD – $91,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
