The selected candidate will be responsible for directing activities of the Manufacturing Engineering organization and the Manufacturing Process Engineering organization. These activities are related to the definition and implementation of all airframe fabrication and assembly processes, including the equipment and standard tools required to ensure product integrity. In this role, the selected candidate will also be the Manufacturing Engineering San Diego Site Lead which will include the following responsibilities:

Manage a team of Manufacturing Engineers, including Managers and Leads, supporting various AS program objectives and requirements
Be accountable for all Manufacturing Engineering statement of work assigned to the San Diego Site, which includes, but is not limited to, design manufacturing producibility, tooling, work instruction development, on-site and reach back manufacturing support, execution of engineering rotation plans, and support to system integration labs
Routinely meet with program and engineering Executive Leadership, to build strong relationships, and advise and discuss program strategies and execution plans
Determine and develop staffing profiles and schedules to meet program requirements
Lead various internal company and external customer audits to assure process compliance and requirements satisfaction
Establish and harvest team values and culture with focus on employee engagement, diversity, and first-time quality

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of manufacturing engineering and/or manufacturing technology experience OR Master’s Degree with 6 years of manufacturing engineering and/or manufacturing technology experience OR High School Diploma/GED with 12 years of manufacturing engineering and/or manufacturing technology experience
3 years’ experience in leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of Engineering, Tooling, Production, Program Management and GSC Subcontracts processes
Experienced in dynamic environments where there may be schedule changes, design changes and validation failures
Experience with Earned Value Management and CAM
Must have complete understanding of aircraft operations and maintenance as well as a thorough knowledge of aircraft scheduling

Salary Range: $141,300 USD – $211,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
