Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Principal Military Trainer – Fixed Wing (FW) Aviation Work Cell Instructor Controller (WIC) to join our growing team of diverse professionals at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas. The selected candidate will serve as the Warfighting Function (WfF) in garrison and exercise cell lead for a team of contractors supporting the Army’s Mission Command Training Program (MCTP).
Responsibilities:
In garrison, trains and officially certifies newly hired part time personnel on the utilization of Warfighter Simulation (WARSIM) and WfF specific simulation processes and procedures
Assists as required in the development of the simulation training POI
Assists as needed in maintaining the WARSIM WfF Data Base
Performs extra duties as assigned by the Operations Group Team Chief and Chief Exercise Senior Controller to include representing FW aviation during Rules and Work around boards
When required, assists in exercise design and scenario development by conducting site surveys and participating in planning conferences
Assists in developing HICOM orders and exercise plans, coordinating internal and external resources, monitoring planning progress and timelines, and preparing contract deliverable items
Maintains awareness and understanding of current and emerging Army & Joint doctrine for Army Brigades, Divisions, and Corps
During exercises, maintains direct liaison with the Combined Air and Space Operations Center (CAOC) and ensures missions scheduled on the Air Tasking Order (ATO) and missions dynamically tasked by the CAOC are flown in the simulation
As a secondary function, maintains direct liaison with the Opposing Forces Supreme High Command and ensures missions scheduled by OPFOR on the targeting synchronization matrix and those dynamically tasked are flown in the simulation
Ensures realistic effects are created within the simulation based on training objectives and commanders’ intent
Works closely with the USA exercise controllers and is the main point of contact when resolving and adjudicating unrealistic/unintended results
Supervises up to seven part and full time WICs during accomplishment of MCTP exercises
Supports the After Action Review (AAR) process by communicating significant events using the Workstation Reporting System (WRS) and detailed Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) reports
Basic Qualifications:
One of the following:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of professional and/or military experience
Master’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of professional and/or military experience
Minimum Military Education Level (MEL) 4 CGSC or Equivalent; graduate of a related Advance Course
Must have or be able to obtain an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
Familiarity with current army and Joint Doctrine
Be physically capable of travel to both CONUS and OCONUS military installations (up to 25% of the time) and perform duty for up to twelve hours for shifts during WFX exercises
Must be able to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas

Graduate degree
Brigade or higher staff officer experience
Active Secret clearance
Salary Range: $67,800 USD – $101,600 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
