Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Material Process Staff Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position can be staffed in Oklahoma City, OK or Palmdale, CA, supporting the Palmdale Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence (PAICoE) organization (If based in Oklahoma, this position will require some travel to Palmdale, CA).
 
The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing, researching, and developing materials and their related application processes for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems. In addition you will apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material science to investigate material issues and provide solutions as well as work in a team environment with other engineering organizations performing detailed technical reviews of drawings, specifications, and manufacturing plans.
 

Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science degree with 15 years of relevant experience (Master’s degree may count towards an additional 2 years of experience).
Experience working with composite pre-pregs, honeycombs, and adhesive materials; Fabrication, assembly, and repair processes for aircraft composite structures.
Must have the ability to obtain a DoD clearance
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science
Current Top Secret DOD clearance
Experience with working on military aircraft 
Experience preparing and presenting oral and written reports
Experience with material Obsolescence issues and qualifying materials
Experience with LO materials

This position reports to Oklahoma City, OK, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Palmdale, CA, CA, USA.

Salary Range: $119,400 USD – $179,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
