Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has multiple openings for Principal Structural Design or Senior Principal Structural Design Engineers to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. In Vehicle Engineering, we develop manned and unmanned aircraft platforms for all of the programs in the Aeronautics Systems Sector
These positions will be located Oklahoma City, OK, or Palmdale, CA and have the possibility to work multiple shifts:
9/80 work scheduled (week 1, Monday – Friday, week 2, Monday – Thursday Friday off)
Monday – Thursday on a 4 day – 10 hours/day schedule. Alternate hours or shifts may be discussed
Friday, Saturday, Sunday on a 3 day – 10 hours/day schedule (you will be paid for a 40-hour work week). Alternate hours or shifts may be discussed
We are looking for Engineers to develop “design for producibility” solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives. In the Structural Design group, we develop solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives. In your day-to-day activities you will participate in the development and review of completed models, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness, in order to provide evaluation of engineering products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications. You will also supervise design solutions from initial concept to final implementation and give concise presentations and explanations of structural issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives.
BS degree in in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering and 5 – 15 years of experience with a background in structural design (Masters degree may count towards an additional 2 years of experience).
Experience in the design of bonded composite primary and secondary aircraft structures.
High level of proficiency in using Unigraphics Nx or CATIA V5 in the development of aircraft structures and components.
Must have the ability to obtain an DoD security clearance
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment.
Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
Experience working on Special Access Programs
Experience working on military aircraft
This position reports to Oklahoma City, OK, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Palmdale, CA, CA, USA.
Salary Range: $77,700 USD – $116,500 USD
Salary Range 2: $96,200 USD – $144,400 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
