Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opportunity for a Mission Assurance (MA) Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Aurora, CO. Join the Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) Division and work with our team of experts ensuring the development and delivery of systems that keep our world safe.
This position may provide relocation assistance. Up to 25% travel may be required.
What you’ll get to do: Lead a Mission Assurance Team, supporting multiple Operating Units (OU) within the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit of the PGS Division. This includes functional management of a staff of MA/QA engineers; communicating and collaborating with OU directors, Program Managers and Program support personnel; and ensuring that the Quality Management System is effective at all levels. The MA team is responsible for assuring the on-time delivery of high-quality products and maintaining compliance across the organization and its suppliers.
The MA Manager 2 will also work directly with Programs within the OU(s) providing technical leadership and individual contributor support. The MA Manager will be a cultural and technical change agent in the transformation of the INS Business Unit’s portfolio of Programs from exclusive software development to hardware development and manufacturing. The MA Manager reports to the INS Business Unit MA Director.
Roles and Responsibilities: Supporting the OU Directors and their portfolio of Programs to ensure program effectiveness. Participation and monitoring of the Business Development process (proposals and writing of MA basis of estimates (BoE). Interfacing with customers to build trusted relationships and work through challenges. Directing and coordinating the application of mission assurance functional disciplines, including Quality Control, Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Quality Programs and Quality Systems per AS9100 standards and the PGS Division quality management plan. Functionally managing a team of mission assurance personnel across multiple Programs, including training, professional development, staffing, and performance evaluation. Establishing and maintaining a budget for your MA staff to include budget for various certifications and training required. Overseeing the proper implementation and execution of Continuous Improvement on assigned programs. Creating effective partnership across all the client leadership teams: Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain as well as the Profit and Loss Organizations. Set the strategy to meet customer’s expectations and regularly communicating program status. Assuring compliance in quality, risk management, safety, process improvement, subcontractor performance, and supplier quality in accordance with contractual requirements. Communicate and collaborate with various Site Leadership personnel of support the Aurora site delivery of high-quality integrated software/hardware systems at the speed of need. This position requires a dedication to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills are required.

Bachelor’s Degree within a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline from an accredited college with a minimum 9 years of relevant experience; 7 years with a Masters
Five (5)+ years in a leadership position
Experience generating basis of estimates
Demonstrable knowledge of software development methods and Systems Engineering practices
Demonstrated ability to evaluate software work products Extensive technical expertise to solve complex problems without appreciable direction
Broad experience in root cause and corrective action investigations
Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
Possess an ACTIVE Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an SCI with CI Poly
US citizenship required
Possess an ACTIVE SCI clearance with CI Poly
Experience supporting an Agile and/or dev ops software development environment
Experience in hardware prototyping and transitioning to a production environment
AS9100 auditing experience and/or auditor training
Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certification process
Proficient in GD&T and evaluating drawings
Experience supporting proposals
Salary Range: $128,400 USD – $192,600 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
