Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a motivated candidate to join the Digital Hardware and ICs organization as a Sr Staff ASIC/FPGA Technology Leader to develop high reliability digital ASICs and FPGAs to support next generation space applications.   The selected applicant will be a Radiation Hardened Microelectronics Subject Matter Expert for the organization.  The selected candidate will have strong communication skills to effectively communicate technical information to Program/Project Leadership, Government customers, technology suppliers, and academia staff appropriate for the needs of the target audience. 

Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Technology Leader, Developer, and Critical Liaison between Northrop Grumman ASIC/FPGA HDL Logic Developers and Microelectronics Foundries and Technology Suppliers
Lead or Consult ASIC/FPGA Engineering Development Project Teams
Authoring or providing critical technical review feedback on technical microelectronics presentations and papers

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or another STEM Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with 14+ years of experience; or STEM Master’s Degree with 12+ years of experience; or STEM PhD. Degree with 9+ years of experience
Previous experience in the development and analysis of radiation hardened ASIC process nodes and libraries
Strong understanding of radiation susceptibility of various FPGA, ASIC, and Memory technologies 
Able to perform tasks to include technology trade studies, develop technology test plans, critical review of radiation analysis test reports, and generate supplier statement of work technical content to produce robust and optimal radiation hardened microelectronics solutions that meet the specified space application environment
Able to evolve ASIC development processes to support next generation radiation hardened process technologies  
Experience in HDL design or FPGA/ASIC verification
8+ years of experience in radiation hardened microelectronics development or research.

Preferred Qualifications:

Digital Signal Processing experience for digital communications or electronic warfare systems
Hands-on lab experience with testing of digital processing LRUs, CCAs, or microelectronic devices

Salary Range: $169,900 USD – $254,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
