Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Baltimore, Maryland is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Operations Project Manager (OPM) for our Advanced Operations team. The qualified candidate will possess excellent communication skills – both verbal and written, strong interpersonal skills, and strong organizational skills. The candidate must be a self-starter and motivated individual who can work in a fast-paced environment and facilitate and influence effectively. Primary duties for this multi-function role include responsibility for managing the sector Operations IRAD portfolio and Scrum Master duties for the Advanced Operations Sector Strategy team.
 

As Operations IRAD coordinator, you will coordinate and track baseline plans for critical IRAD projects and manage project execution, including change management, for cost, schedule, and quality compliance up to completion and close out. You will collaborate with technical project leads and manufacturing engineering managers to ensure project performance achieves baseline plans for all manufacturing engineering investment projects. Responsibilities include weekly/monthly spend status and earned value reporting, as well as assuring project compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) guidelines. 

As Scrum Master for the Advanced Operations team, you will be the servant leader for a highly motivated cross functional team of design, global supply chain, test and manufacturing engineers in support of executing the advanced operations sector strategy using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Responsibilities include leading daily stand-up meetings, reviews, demos, and other project-related meetings, supporting team members in their tasks, and coaching the team on Scrum principles and best practices.

This job may be filled as a Principal or Senior Principal based on the qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal:

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant work experience or 3 years of relevant work experience with a Master’s degree

Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering experience

Knowledge of Agile principles, practices, and methods

Proven experience in project management

Proven experience in process improvement

Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal:

Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of relevant work experience or 7 years of relevant work experience with a Master’s degree

Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering experience

Knowledge of Agile principles, practices, and methods

Proven experience in project management

Proven experience in process improvement

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as a Scrum Master using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

Familiarity with advanced packaging for microelectronics

Knowledge of Jira and Confluence

Salary Range: $99,800 USD – $149,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $123,800 USD – $185,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
