We have an opening for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer (level 4) to join our qualified, diverse team. We are seeking a team member who wants to solve interesting, complex problems to help protect our nation. We are a trusted mission payload and ground system provider with extensive experience providing end-to-end mission solutions from concept through operations and support. The team you will support is located at our Space Park campus in Redondo Beach, CA.

What you’ll get to do?

As a Senior Principal Systems Engineer, you will directly support the Ground SEIT IPT lead in leading the systems engineering and integration and test team in the campaign to refine requirements in support of the verification campaign, coordinate with customers to ensure alignment to contractually required product deliveries and documentation, influence the program’s roadmap planning, and provide systems engineering guidance to the teams.

Some key tasks:

Provide technical expertise to the Program Management and Engineer staff
Work with product owners to ensure product roadmaps align with needed integration schedule and pipeline build plans
Support customer briefings on status of development, verification, and other technical subjects requiring closure.
Capability Lead to pull together the entire set of artifacts for a capability (requirements, OpsCon, system design, interfaces)

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in STEM with 7 years of relevant experience
Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
Working knowledge of satellite ground stations
Active DoD Top Secret/SCI Clearance with the ability to obtain Special Program Access
Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Agile development
Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML), Cameo and concepts
Direct experience using the DOORS Requirements Management Database
Direct experience providing technical leadership, direction and mentoring to other technical employees to achieve practical end results
Experience with UI/UX
Direct experience with formally presenting technical solutions to senior leadership.

Salary Range: $129,700 USD – $194,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
