Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manager Systems Engineering 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Huntsville AL.
The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s C4 Missile Defense Engineering Leadership team. C4 Missile Defense business unit is part of the Combat System Mission Readiness Division which develops and integrates cutting-edge secure communications , sensing capabilities, protection technologies and readiness solutions for defense customers to achieve a decisive in-theater advantage.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Drive agility and operational efficiency of engineering processes to achieve consistently high performance, program predictability and CSMR operational objectives.
Attract, develop, promote, and retain highly qualified engineering workforce
Collaborate with Programs, Captures and Independent Research and Development (IRAD) efforts to deliver business value
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technical, Engineering or Math field (STEM) from an accredited institution and 9+ years relevant experience OR a Master’s with 7+ years experience
7 years experience leading and managing a large multi-disciplinary engineering team or engineering organization
5 years proven experience managing budgets
Proven experience with implementation of Agile approaches
Demonstrated strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation and communication skills
An Active DoD Secret clearance with investigation within the last 6 years
Knowledge of Short Range Air Defense (SHORAD) and/or Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) programs, technologies and concepts
Experience developing and delivering Command and Control (C2) solutions to US Army Air Defense customers
Proven experience of being able to mentor and coach team members to motivate growth, performance and career development.
Experience in workforce expansion and rapid hiring
Primary Place of Performance
Salary Range: $160,000 USD – $240,000 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
