Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems is seeking a Principal Ground Systems Engineer and will support Tactical Space Systems Division Human Exploration Programs. The selected candidate will support creation and maintenance of a Mission Operations Center. This task includes installation, integration, networking, software deployment, and troubleshooting. The position will require ongoing interfacing with customers and vendors as well as on-site support at Johnson Space Center. 

This position will be based in Houston, TX. Relocation assistance may be available.

 

The successful candidate will perform duties such as:

Work with remote team to implement the Mission Operations Center (MOC) design and buildout

Support ICD definition and implementation of the requirements

OS level administration

Deploy software in physical and virtual environments

Write scripts

Identify and troubleshoot issues and work with a team to resolve

 

Basic Qualifications:

A minimum 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in STEM; 3 years with a master’s degree

Previous experience setting up and maintaining a MOC or labPrevious experience working directly with customers, ideally Government agencies, e.g., NASA, NRL, AFRL, etc.

Linux administration

Able to brief senior level managers

Must be a US citizen and be able to pass a NACI background investigation

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working with ground command and control systems

Experience with VMWare

Experience with Cisco Networking equipment

CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent) DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Certification

Ability to obtain Government SSBI

Salary Range: $95,000 USD – $142,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
