Northrop Grumman is one of the industry leaders in Stealth Technology. As such, we are involved in all phases of development, production, and maintenance of Low Observable (LO) platforms.  We are currently looking for experienced Low Observable / Radar Cross Section (RCS) /Survivability Engineers of all skill levels to work on exciting and challenging projects.

Essential Duties for Survivability Design Integration:

Develop and integrate advanced technologies to reduce the detectability of aircraft in the electromagnetic spectrum
Develop and implement predictive analysis codes; build and test physical models; design, develop, and build test and verification equipment; and develop, test, and integrate specialty materials
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to determine how survivability technologies can best be integrated into air-based systems achieving a balanced design and exceeding customer requirements.

Preferred Candidate Will Poses the Following:

Experience in electromagnetic signature reduction, RCS design, analysis, and testing
Strong knowledge of Low Observables and RCS performance in operational environments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to use CAE and/or FEA tools (i.e. FMS, Patran, Cubit, etc.)
Proven experience with 3D Method of Moments (MoM) such as SENTRi and 3D Physical Optics (PO) codes such as Xpatch
Programming experience in C++, MATLAB, Python, or other highly technical languages
Knowledge and ability with RCS data processing tools, such as Knowbell, Saber, or Pioneer
Experience proposing and running successful R&D efforts to develop survivable components and technology, including budget, schedule, tasking, and review of technical products.
An active U.S. Government issued DoD Top Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain SAP/SAR clearance

Basic Qualifications:

A current active U.S. Government in-scope DoD Secret security clearance or higher is required to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain SAP/SAR clearance
Applied experience in electromagnetics and/or aircraft survivability with a comprehensive understanding of electromagnetic energy transmission through space and within materials
Experience in one or more CAD software solutions such as CATIA, Unigraphics, or NX
Ability to work independently and as a valuable team member

Survivability Experience & Education Levels:

Principal Survivability Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military engineering experience, OR a Master’s degree AND 3 years of related professional/military engineering experience 
Sr Principal Survivability Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline AND 9 years of related professional/military engineering experience, OR a Master’s degree AND 7 years of related professional/military engineering experience, OR a Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military engineering experience.

Salary Range: $90,400 USD – $135,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $112,000 USD – $168,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
