The Emerging Capabilities Development group of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Microelectronics Product Engineer for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) – located outside of Baltimore, Maryland – where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs. Northrop Grumman’s ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. The qualified candidate will have a general knowledge of semiconductor processing, digital or RF circuit design and test. Candidate will join a production team working closely with multiple programs and area managers to support on-time delivery of products derived from a variety of CMOS, SiGe HBT and compound semiconductor technologies. As a Product Engineer you will interface with both peers and representatives from design, assembly, test, inspection, product integration, and program management. You will work to resolve issues, identify areas for improvement and coordinate efforts to drive them to completion.
Core responsibilities for this position include monitoring and analyzing test yields, maintaining specifications and assembly process flows, and tracking and communicating progress and schedule. Additional responsibilities include production support engineering with respect to testing methods, assembly, inspection flows, quality, product specifications and yield improvements. Candidates must have an aptitude for data manipulation and analysis via tools such as JMP and/or custom programming via languages such as Python.
This requisition may be filled as a Microelectronics Semiconductor Engineer or Principal Microelectronics Semiconductor Engineer
Basic Qualifications for Microelectronics Product Engineer:
– Must have bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 2 yrs. product engineering experience or master’s degree with 0 yrs. experience
– Must have general understanding of semiconductor processing
– Must have general MS Office suite experience
Basic Qualifications for Microelectronics Principal Product Engineer:
– Must have bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 5 yrs. product engineering experience or master’s degree with 3 yrs. experience
– Must have prior experience working as microelectronic product, design, process, integration, and/or test engineer.
– Proficiency with performing data & statistical analysis using data analysis tools (JMP, Minitab, R, Matlab, YieldWerx, etc)
-Solid State Physics or other relevant engineering physical science disciplines.
-Understanding of analog, digital and RF device test and characterization techniques.
-Familiarity with semiconductor product qualification tests & industry standards
-Yield enhancement or manufacturing experience including six sigma disciplines.
-Experience with JMP, Python, Tableau and/or other programming & data analysis software.
Salary Range: $81,000 USD – $121,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $99,800 USD – $149,800 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
