What you will get to do:
The Northrop Grumman Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC) Modeling and Simulation Software (MSS) is seeking Software Engineering Manager to join our team of qualified and diverse leaders at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The SWDC program provides many key capabilities to the Missile Defense Agency to include advanced OPIR tracking capability, ground test support, and key modeling and simulation capabilities. The software engineering manager is responsible for supervising a team of engineers, hiring engineers, and performance evaluation. The software engineering manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance to software engineering standards, and best practices. In this role they will work closely with program to provide guidance on software development tools and provide guidance to the team’s use of the software development tools. In summary, the software engineering manager will
Have responsibility for designing, developing, testing, integrating, documenting and releasing M&S software applications
Lead a team of approximately 25 software engineers and provide guidance through the software engineering lifecycle to include architectural decision making
Lead the effort of modernizing existing software baseline
Interface with program management, system engineering and customer stakeholders on matters relating to software engineering products
Ensure engineering team has necessary resources and equipment to perform job
Provide regular employee engagement such as regular 1:1s, and career development
Work with program stakeholders to understand program engineering needs and perform hiring responsibilities in accordance with needs
Position will require up to 25% travel.
9 years with BS; 7 years with Masters; 5 years with PhD.
Experience with Agile principles to include Kanban, Scrum.
Experience managing small to medium sized teams.
Knowledge of DevOps tools to include Continuous Integration and Unit Test frameworks.
Virtual machine, and containerization familiarization
Position requires U.S. Citizenship
Must have a DoD Secret security clearance
Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency Modeling and Simulation products.
Familiarity with Missile Defense System Architecture and Mission.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Salary Range: $134,400 USD – $201,600 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
