The Integration and Support Group (ISG) has an immediate opening for a Sub-Project Manager (SPM) to lead our qualified, diverse team. We are seeking a team member who wants to solve interesting, complex problems to help protect our nation. We are a trusted mission payload and ground system provider with extensive experience providing end-to-end mission solutions from concept through operations and support. The team you will support is located at our Space Park campus in Redondo Beach, CA.

As the SPM, you will supervise a team of about eight (8) System Administrators and Engineers. This team performs computer system buildup, OS/COTS integration, configuration tuning, Security compliance, and performance testing for multiple development programs using predominately Linux, VMware, and NAS storage. You will be responsible for ensuring appropriate resources are available to meet program schedules and deliverable requirements. Your scope will range from COTS product evaluations, HW/SW system builds, system administration, maintaining equipment throughout the life cycle, and support of management meetings and reviews. You must possess an in-depth technical understanding of Linux and VMware. Ultimately, you will be responsible for directing team members to perform tasks across multiple programs, setting priorities, meeting deliverable schedules, and working within budgets. This position requires coordination and interfacing with internal and external Customers, CAMs, SPMs, and Program Management.

The candidate will also be expected to fill a 20% part-time functional Section Manager role and will be responsible for 10 – 12 systems administrators, network engineers, software engineers, systems engineers, and/or cyber /information assurance engineers. The responsibilities of the p/t section manager role includes: Support functional management activities such as staffing and workload forecast; employee engagement, mentoring and career development; identification and training of skills required to execute on programs; Participate in sourcing, recruiting, onboarding, and performance management; and Support Business Strategy Efforts (including proposals, gate reviews, independent review team, NAR/ICE, as necessary)

Finally, you must have the ability to complete tasks with minimal direction and mentor junior engineers.

 

Basic Qualifications:

9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 7 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree; 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD; an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degree
Experience leading a team of engineers in system and processes development Previous experience with Linux Systems Administration Experience working in an IT service organization
Current SCI access or current DoD Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Security+ security certification
Degree in a STEM discipline
Linux, VMware certification
5 or more years of previous management experience as a SPM, Deputy SPM or Technical Lead
Experience in system development and integration in operational environments
Demonstrated Power Point chart development and briefing experience
Previously adjudicated counter intelligence (CI) polygraph

Salary Range: $147,800 USD – $221,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
